SIBM Pune is a student-driven institute, with MBA candidates encouraged to participate in the decision-making process that shapes their future as well as that of the institute. The Students’ Council at SIBM Pune is the student body responsible and accountable for all activities conducted on campus throughout the year. The teams consist of students from the first and second year led by coordinators. These coordinators, along with the President of the Students’ Council, form an executive body to oversee all activities.

The teams work in the interest of SIBM Pune, the student community, industry and alumni in keeping the vision of the institute and striving towards excellence. The executive council has been provided the independence to plan and set goals for their respective teams, and to efficiently use budgeted resources to accomplish them. The Director and Faculty Chairperson offer their guidance and support.

QUOD - The Quizzing and Debating Society

The Quizzing and Debating Society of SIBM Pune promotes the curiosity for knowledge through quizzing & debating competitions and events. It is a student organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the value of general knowledge, speech, debating activities and the ability to think spontaneously. This involves the development of sophisticated reading skills and of an ability to place literary texts in their wider intellectual and historical contexts.

In fact, the ability to sit and read some of the greatest works of prose, poetry, and performance in a campus steeped in its own near-natural wealth of nature and beautiful architecture gives you a sense of being lost in your own fantasy, your own realm of turrets, tutors and texts.

Caf-Fin – Finance Club

The Finance Society works to help students stay better prepared for the particularly intensive and demanding course. They send out a GK dossier to students, containing a collection of relevant articles and news from the past six months. They also conduct sessions on MS Excel and SPSS. Previous years’ participants of important finance-related competitions share their experiences and tips with juniors. For the future, they plan to put up a bi-annual magazine featuring student articles and also an inter-B-school case study challenge.

OpCellence – Operations Club

OpCellence’s vision is to promote Operations Management in SIBM Pune, by organizing and facilitating various Supply Chain and Logistics related events. The Club organizes various Operations based case study, business simulation, and article writing competitions and also publishes its annual magazine Co-Operate consisting of articles from B-School students from all over India and interviews from Industry stalwarts. In addition to this, OpCellence takes an active part in making the students of SIBM Pune get ready for the Corporate world by organizing Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Course by KPMG, guest sessions by alumni and corporates on trending topics, and prepare students for summer internship recruitment through lectures on important topics, weekly newsletters, mock group-discussions and interviews, and pre-internship guidance through experience-sharing sessions by seniors.

Mark-O-Polo - Marketing Club

Mark-O-Polo, the Marketing Society of SIBM Pune, aims at magnifying the marketing culture at the institute and further strengthening the marketing acumen of students.
It is solely dedicated to carve marketers out of MBA students by facilitating various lectures, competitions, group discussions and reading content.

Vitarka – HR & IR Club

The HR Society works to add value to the HR batch through a number of activities. In Internship Hacks, seniors talk about their internship experiences and share tips on performing well with juniors. Excel Hacks is a peer-to-peer learning session where students are exposed to advanced Excel usage. Lectures and mock GDs and interviews by seniors on important topics go a long way in preparing juniors for the summer-internship recruitment process. Future plans include launch of events, including article-writing contests and quizzes.

Consulting and Strategy Club

The Consulting and Strategy Club is a Special Interest Group established to drive vertical mastery in Strategy Consulting, Management Consulting, and Technology Consulting. The club's vision is to build a Consulting and Strategy ecosystem in the institute by providing scholastic support and mentorship to the students to prepare them for a career in the consulting domain.

In the pursuit of the vision, the club releases StratX, a series designed to provide insights on industry trends, business frameworks, etc., as a long-term scholastic capability-building exercise. The club organizes Resolve, a peer-to-peer case discussion series, and publishes a case discussion video series on YouTube. Continuum, the guest speaker series, brings the students in touch with industry stalwarts to give them a flavor of the world of consulting. The Consulting Casebook and the Annual Consulting Festival are the cornerstones of the activities that the club envisages conducting.

Product Management & Technology Club

PMT, The Product Management and Technology Club of SIBM Pune aims to foster a thriving community of product management enthusiasts dedicated to developing cutting-edge, problem-solving products. We aim to create a platform for students to engage with industry experts, avail mentorship opportunities, and access resources to help them hone their skills and develop into competitive, industry-ready product managers.

To this end, PMT organises a variety of initiatives throughout the year that are geared toward improving product management skills among individuals and aiding in scholastic and career development. These include workshops, seminars, guest sessions by industry experts, and mentorship programs. PMT also provides opportunities for students to showcase their talent and creativity through product management competitions and hackathons.

Our ultimate goal is to establish SIBM Pune as a hub for product management and technology, where aspiring product managers can come together to learn, grow, and innovate. We believe that by building a strong community of like- minded individuals, we can help drive innovation and progress in the field of product management, both within our institution and beyond.
