Conceptualized in 2011, Prerna is SIBM Pune's flagship social event that comes under the social wing of SECC. With a diverse range of stimulating social awareness programs for different sections of society, it aims at instilling a passion among people to learn new things. It is conducted by the student volunteers of SIBM Pune, to create a substantial impact powered by building proactive and conscious leaders of tomorrow.
With PRERNA, SECC has always strived to initiate a dialogue on some important topics which need cognizance of us all. Under PRERNA 11.0, SECC conducted 4 sessions covering some of the most pressing issues of our society. The core aim of all the sessions was to make a visible difference at different levels altogether. From conducting a session to encourage taking a stand against violence on ‘Domestic Well-being of women’ to helping acid attack survivors venture into new avenues to gain financial independence through 'Aatma Nirbhar’.Further through sessions on ‘Health and Hygiene’ and 'Waste Management & Climate Change' how small steps in our daily lives can be impactful in the long run.
SECC also conducts a PRERNA session every year for the Mess & Housekeeping staff of SIU at Lavale Campus. The sole objective of this initiative is to touch multiple lives, spread smiles, and create an impact in society. Creating a culture of community service and the importance of social welfare among the students. We had a large number of student volunteers who designed the content, customized it for the audience, and conducted the sessions.
