Block and Tackle 2024 was conducted on 5th January, 2024 based on the concept of a one-on-one team debate face-off competition, where two teams engage in a battle of words and wits against each other in a face-off fashion.
The topics for the debate face-off ranging across 6 genres, such as Ethical Dilemmas, Science and Technology, Politics, Environment and more each with 4-10 topics to choose from. All the participants were assigned topics and stances and then paired with each other as a team for the epic duel based on their assigned topics.
The event then commenced with the first round whereby15 teams engaged in face-offs on random topics and were then evaluated based on knowledge, relevance, communication skills, rebuttal, and code of conduct. The top 4 teams from the first round then advanced towards round 2 which got intensified with tighter time constraints, leading to the progression of top two teams into the final round which adopted a case study format and were then assessed on the basis of representation, response to judges' queries and answer support.
After a fierce competition, "Jhagda Enthusiasts," comprising Parth Ranade and Eesha Singh from MBA 2, emerged as the victorious team, followed by "Team Sher" (Diwas Dawer and Anikesh Agarwal) in second place and "The Last Minute Duo" (Arundhathy TS and Gaurav Roy Chowdhury) securing the third position.
