Information Systems and Media Relations Team (ISMART)
The main objective of the Information Systems and Media Relations Team - the PR Team is to be the voice of SIBM Pune by facilitating communication between the college and the outside world.
Some of the team’s main activities are:
- Managing SIBM Pune’s various communication handles such as social media, online education, and news portals.
- Providing exclusive coverage of all student activities, corporate events and guest lectures that take place on campus .
- Conducting interviews of corporate guests, alumni, and visiting faculty.
- Content generation in the form of articles, reports, posters and videos for various stakeholders which include students, alumni, and corporates.
- PR and Promotions for other council teams.
- Organizing workshops and events that highlight the growing importance of public relations and media management.
- Managing the institute's IT infrastructure which is vital towards knowledge sharing between students, the placement team, faculty and college administration.

STUDENT'S INITIATIVES
Aside from the Students' Council, under whose purview most activities are conducted on campus, a few more initiatives are undertaken by students for students, from time to time.
SIBM PUNE TOASTMASTERS CLUB
View Toastmasters ClubSIBM Pune offers students every opportunity to hone their leadership skills and boost their confidence. The SIBM Pune Toastmasters Club is one such initiative. The interest shown by students in a space wherein their public speaking skills could be fine-tuned fuelled the inception of this institute's chapter of Toastmasters International, in July 2012.
As with so many initiatives at SIBM Pune, the foundation of the Toastmasters Club too was entirely student-driven. A felt need raised a demand which drove the process, which again was led by the young management students. After some time invested in this process, the SIBM Pune Toastmasters Club was finally inaugurated on July 6th, 2012. A corporate club, the SIBM Pune chapter of Toastmasters International aims to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment for all prospective toastmasters and public speakers. The Club organises weekly meetings, each of which is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.
QUOD - THE QUIZZING AND DEBATING SOCIETY
View QUODThe Quizzing and Debating Society of SIBM Pune promotes the curiosity for knowledge through quizzing & debating competitions and events. It is a student organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the value of general knowledge, speech, debating activities and the ability to think spontaneously. This involves the development of sophisticated reading skills and of an ability to place literary texts in their wider intellectual and historical contexts.
In fact, the ability to sit and read some of the greatest works of prose, poetry, and performance in a campus steeped in its own near-natural wealth of nature and beautiful architecture gives you a sense of being lost in your own fantasy, your own realm of turrets, tutors and texts.
CAF-FIN - FINANCE CLUB
View Caf-FinThe Finance Society works to help students stay better prepared for the particularly intensive and demanding course. They send out a GK dossier to students, containing a collection of relevant articles and news from the past six months. They also conduct sessions on MS Excel and SPSS. Previous years' participants of important finance-related competitions share their experiences and tips with juniors. For the future, they plan to put up a bi-annual magazine featuring student articles and also an inter-B-school case study challenge.
OPCELLENCE - OPERATIONS CLUB
View OpCellenceOpCellence’s vision is to promote Operations Management in SIBM Pune, by organizing and facilitating various Supply Chain and Logistics related events. The Club organizes various Operations based case study, business simulation, and article writing competitions and also publishes its annual magazine Co-Operate consisting of articles from B-School students from all over India and interviews from Industry stalwarts. In addition to this, OpCellence takes an active part in making the students of SIBM Pune get ready for the Corporate world by organizing Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Course by KPMG, guest sessions by alumni and corporates on trending topics, and prepare students for summer internship recruitment through lectures on important topics, weekly newsletters, mock group-discussions and interviews, and pre-internship guidance through experience-sharing sessions by seniors.
MARK-O-POLO - MARKETING CLUB
View Mark-O-PoloMark-O-Polo, the Marketing Society of SIBM Pune, aims at magnifying the marketing culture at the institute and further strengthening the marketing acumen of students.
It is solely dedicated to carve marketers out of MBA students by facilitating various lectures, competitions, group discussions and reading content.
VITARKA - HR & IR CLUB
View VitarkaVitarka, the HR and IR Club of SIBM Pune, is a hub for all things HR. Starting from the weekly HR Reviews and GK Reviews to National level business simulation competitions, the young Special Interest Group is racing into maturity.
The HR Society works to add value to the HR batch through a number of activities. Every week, GK and HR reviews are posted on the official Facebook page of the club to keep students updated about happenings related to GK and HR in the current world.
The HR club organizes HR Trivia Challenge to assist students in their Final Placements and enhance their knowledge about corporations. It organizes Whiplash, an HR/IR based national level online case study competition where the teams only get 3 hours to solve the entire case in a team of 2. It also organizes cHRysalis, a National level HR case study competition in association with Transcend, the flagship event of Co-Curricular Team. Another important feature in our calendar is the National level case study and simulation competition HReplica, organized in association with SECC during the E-Summit. Apart from this, National level Article writing competitions are organized as well.
Industrial visits called Yathra are organized for MBA students of both 1st and 2nd year to provide them with corporate exposure and help them understand how HR functions in the corporate world.
In Internship Hacks, seniors talk about their internship experiences and share tips on performing well with juniors. Excel Hacks is a peer-to-peer learning session where students are exposed to advanced Excel usage. Preparatory materials, lectures, mock GDs and interviews by seniors on important topics go a long way in preparing juniors for the summer-Internship recruitment process. For the final placements, a complete repository of HR functions called HR Recall and current a booklet on GD Topics is rolled out to help students prepare better. A bi-annual magazine called HR Fusion is also published by Vitarka to update the students regarding the recent trends in the world of HR.
INNOVATION CLUB
ViewInnovation ClubThe Innovation Club aids the students of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship batch to develop and showcase their entrepreneurial skills. It was formed with a purpose to support MBA (I&E) students spread the spirit of innovation. It organizes events like 'The Pitch' which is a B Plan competition which helps students secure seed investment for their ventures, business model formulation workshop, Idea Room -a pitching and feedback platform and also several panel discussions featuring renowned entrepreneurs, throughout the academic year. The flagship event ‘iConclave’ encompasses of guest speakers imparting their experience and discussing on how the start-up ecosystem is in the real world functions. The club also organizes mentorship activities for the I&E students.
