iSMaRT_PRoelio 9.0

The Information Systems and Media Relations Team (iSMaRT), the PR team of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, hosted PRoelio 9.0, India's Biggest PR Face-off from the 5th November, 2023 to the 2nd of December 2023. The one-of-a-kind PR-based case competition which saw 400+ registrations from premier B-schools across the country.

Celebrating its ninth year, PRoelio 9.0 stood as a testament to iSMaRT's enduring commitment to nurturing the future trailblazers of the Public Relations domain. This year's theme, "Shape Perceptions, Influence Reality," spurred teams to delve deep into the intricate interplay of communication, perspective, and the construction of reality in PR strategy.

The National Finals of PRoelio 9.0, held at SIBM Pune, truly embodied the grandeur, splendour, and intellectual brilliance that have become synonymous with PRoelio over the years. The five finalist teams engaged in a fierce competition, showcasing their analytical prowess, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities—traits that define future leaders. The pinnacle of the National Finals was an exhilarating mock press conference, where a panel of indigenous journalists subjected the teams to a barrage of rapid-fire questions, scrutinizing their proposed media and PR strategies with intensity and rigour. The teams were then addressed by the esteemed judges’ panel, comprising Mr. Avinash Gawai, Founder of Media4U and National Vice-Chairman of Public Relations Council of India and YCC, Mr. Rajesh Srinivasan, Author, Chief Strategy Consultant, Mindful Marketing and Mr. Prathamesh Gosavi, Founder, The Civilization Project.

After a tough competition among the top 6 teams, Team Proton, comprising Urvi Dodeja and Trilochan Patri from T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal, were crowned as National Winners and Team Innovasionaries from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune, comprising Yash Parte, Somesh Shinde and Gunjan Ghanwat emerged as National Runner-up. Besides this, Sunit Koodli was crowned as the Best Journalist of the event.

As the curtains closed on PRoelio 9.0, it left an indelible mark, not merely as a competition but as a beacon guiding the next generation of PR visionaries toward a future defined by strategic brilliance and communicative excellence. Truly, Stuart Ewen’s quote was perhaps best exemplified by the event, “The history of PR is a history of a battle for what is reality and how people will see and understand reality.”
