The Corporate Interface Team, SIBM Pune successfully completed its flagship management conclave, Senate 2021 on 7th March 2021.
With the rising digital transformation & the demand for transition through circular economy, it is imperative that students understand how industries implement disruptive business strategies to respond to the evolving trends, and their perspective of the triple bottom line in ensuring sustainability. Keeping this thought in mind, this year's theme was titled "Scaling Sustainability: From Principle to Practice".
The first guest session was a panel discussion on the theme 'Carving the Keystone: Unlocking Sustainable Growth through Strategic Innovation'. The speakers for this event were Mr. SudishPanicker- Managing Director & Head BNY Mellon India, Mr. Arun Karna- Managing Director & CEO AT&T Global Network Services India Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Venkateswaran- Chief Information Officer, Persistent System, Mr. Akash Poddar - Founder & COO, Yatra Online B2B Pvt. Ltd. The session was moderated by Ms. Radhika Ralhan - Atlas Corps Fellow, USA.
The second session for the evening revolved around the theme of ‘Seed to Stock’ where Mr. Puneet Shivam - President, Avendus Capital Inc. US shared his views on the topic - The Thinking Hat of Private Equity Firms. It was followed by Mr. Aslam Khan - Chairman and Managing Director, Octaware Technologies, who gave his insights on the journey of businesses moving towards IPO.
The final session for Senate 2021 was a panel discussion on the theme 'Integration of Circular Economy for Business Transformation'. The panel was graced by Mr.Bitan Datta - Managing Director and Partner, Boston Consulting Group, Mr. RV Sridhar - Executive Director & CEO - Coated Steel, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, Mr. Manoj Saxena - Managing Director, Bayer Zydus Pharma and Country Division Head, South Asia - Pharmaceuticals. The session was moderated by Mr. Rajesh Nath - Managing Director, German Engineering Federation (VDMA) India to discuss the role of circular economy to achieve sustainable growth.
