Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune is Constituent of SYMBIOSIS INTERNATIONAL (DEEMED UNIVERSITY) - SIU. Established in 1978, a premier B School in India, SIBM Pune is consistently ranked among the top 10 B Schools of the country. SIBM Pune is recognized for its excellence in academics and its valuable contributions to industry and society and students. SIBM Pune is a member of EFMD & EFMD Global network .

SIU has been ranked amongst top 50 Universities in India by NIRF, Government of India. The students' council organizes a number of events, management competitions as well as cultural and sports activities like Coffee with SIBM, Arcturus, Imperio, National Alumni Meet, Transcend, The Blueprint, Entrepreneurship Summit, Sports Conclave,PRoelio and many more. SIBM Pune ensures that its alumni stays well connected with the college. Several events are organized wherein the alumni interacts with the students and share their corporate experiences.

The year 1971 witnessed the birth of ‘SYMBIOSIS’, a story which was yet to be written across the coming decades and would change the lives of millions of young minds, founded by Dr. S.B. Majumdar with the aim to unite students from all over the world. 

SIBM Pune was the first college to be set up under the SYMBIOSIS SOCIETY in the year 1978. With the old campus at Senapati Bapat Road in Pune, the city often referred to as the Oxford of the East due to its status of being the cultural and educational capital of Maharashtra. 

The tagline ‘Scripting aspirations since 1978’ holds true as SIBM has produced numerous industry stalwarts and entrepreneurs, who have left a mark in the minds and hearts of the people they connect with. SIBM also instills a deep respect for relationships. Be it between the faculty and their students, amongst the batch mates across specializations or amongst the alumni. Even after years of service in the corporates, the alumni of SIBM Pune are ever ready to give back to their alma mater. Such is the love that is brimming in the heart of every student of SIBM Pune. 

From its inception, the institute was functioning from the SB Road campus until the year 2007, when it was relocated to the lush verdant hills of Lavale. SIBM Pune was already famous for its excellence in education, but was now labelled the ‘hilltop heaven’ because of the unparalleled scenic beauty, which was, and is outstretched till as far as the eyes could see. The iconic white and pristine statue of the goddess Saraswati at the entrance, blessing every soul that sets foot in the campus, is a remarkable sight to behold.
